I just wanted to let those of you who read and participate in my blog know that I will be out Thursday and Friday, so if I don't respond it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you. I'll have my computer, but access will be scarce I'm sure.

My dad is having about a foot of colon removed Thursday morning so I will be up in Troy with him.

I'm sure everything will go fine, but my family and I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your vote of confidence, Lufer, though Corey seems not to have received my suggestion with the level of serious attention that I feel it deserves - and I.B. has taken the diplomatic (or chicken) way out!

But, Ducky Girl, I hardly expected sarcasm from my partner in crime in the blogisphere! After all the many, many hours we've spent together, supporting our dear Statesman bloggers with our wise contributions to this innovative experiment in technology!

Where is your loyalty??

I haven't, but I plan to check on him today. Bless his heart, I miss him a BUNCH!!! The 'ole Bloggisphere just isn't the same w/o him! It has a big hole in it!! Kinda like the ozone....

Well, I'm home. Dad's surgery went well. They removed a foot of large intestine, but were able to do it laproscopically (sp?) so that should cut the healing time way down. He will hopefully be out of the hospital by Sunday or Monday. They have him up walking around this morning and the pain seems to have cut back considerably.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. They're very important to us.

Sorry I hadn't filled anyone in on this, but I've been very busy since I made it home. The surgery went really well and laster just over an hour. Dad is doing pretty well, he's still rather uncomfortable, but we hope that's going to be getting better in the near future. They had some difficulty getting his colon to start working again, but they said some people just take longer than others.

The doctors are reasonably sure there was no cancer, but even if there was they said they are 100-percent confident they got it all.

He is home however and resting in his own bed which has made him at least a lot more happy.

My family and I all appreciate the kind words and prayers everyone sent out.
