Well, a few people have posted or e-mailed me about the Palin event in Cape yesterday and asked what I thought about it, so I thought I'd write a short post.

I pulled into the Show-Me Center parking lot looong before the sun arrived to begin its work day and I could tell it was going to be a crazy morning before I ever stepped out of my Jeep.

The only entrance open was the front (east) doors to the venue and the line of people stretched all the way around the building back to pig lot which for those of you who don't know is one heck of a long hike.

Being press, thank God, we had our own entrance that made me about the 10th person in line so I didn't freeze quite s long as everyone else.

As silly as this will sound to some of you, one of the neatest things about these big events for me is watching the press come out.

I know there were at least 30 reporters from various countries that were sponsored by the Department of State, a different group from Croatia and all of the big national news networks, newspapers and bloggers.

I really don't think it was quite as much media as when Obama came to Cape, but they were fairly close.

It's always neat to meet people from around the world, and even around Southeast Missouri, who make their living the same way as you.

When Palin took the stage though the crowd went absolutely wild. People screaming, chanting, dancing. People everywhere covered in stickers, buttons, Palin t-shirts and at least one guy covered in body paint.

In some ways like that it was more reminiscent of a Grateful Dead concert than a political event, but I guess that shows how things change over the years and how a few interesting candidates can really energize the population into caring.

Just a few more days and we'll know just who was more energized I guess!

How can anyone say she would be qualified for president? I guess if you shoot animals from helicopters (as she does in Alaska), wears $250,000 worth of clothes, and speaks in tongues to the Lord, that makes you qualified in some peoples eyes.

I guess neither of you have actually ready anything about how she got those clothes and what happends to them after she wears them huh? But since wildcat67 thinks its ok to make it a little bit more than what it is, I guess its ok for me to get on here and tell everybody that Obama doesn't love America and sides with the terrorist, because he has a muslim name huh?

Oh yeah, the RNC purchased those clothes and after she wears them, they are donated to chairity...I assume if they were yours, you would put them in the 100 mile yard sale, huh?

Wildcat67, I didn't realize that the only duty the Alaskan governor had was to ride around in a helicopter all day shooting at animals. Wow, what a job! Actually, the helicopter culling is for wolves. Fewer wolves help the moose population grow. Regardless, I don't think Sarah is up there riding around all day with a sniper rifle. Some of the other folks here have covered the clothing, so I won't go there again. The other accusation doesn't merit a response. I don't think having a muslim name make Obama a muslim, but man, he sure does love his terrorist friends, doesn't he? Here's hoping The One folds like a cheap suit next Tuesday. Vote McCain/Palin!

I would like to know what makes Obama qualified if she isn't. I don't think there has been a Senator elected to the Presidency before and it is usually someone with executive experience which Sarah Palin has as a Governor and Obama does not. Of course she doesn't have friends that write books and dedicate them to the Sirhan Sirhan. So she may be a little less progressive than Obama.

Obama is qualified for the following reasons:

1. He has the mainstream media(MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, AP, News Week, NewYork Times, LA Times, StLouis Post Dispatch, etc) on his side.

2. He is good with rhetoric. Folks don't care about his voting record; they just love the idea of soaking the rich to give to the poor (never mind that this is a Marxist tenet).

3. He is ahead in the polls. If the majority are for you, you're qualified.

4. He is African-American and a liberal one so he can relate to the class struggle of minorities.

5. With a Muslim name, Christian church membership, and support of liberal Jews, he can pacify all three religions. He may even be able to forge a peace deal between Jews and Palestinians and create a Palestinian state.

Folks, I'm convinced that sheeple will vote for the ant-Christ if he can promise everthing and is persuasive enough.

Back to the question...yes, I went, stood in line for an hour and was blessed to have v.i.p. tickets, so I was seated behind her. I would do it again if given the chance! The whole experience was great! For those of us who were there, and by my own observation, Dexter was VERY well represented, I leave with this closing remark: "Drill Baby Drill!!!"

As for the Anti-Christ comment when people spout that it just shows they are not reading things for themselves. No where in Revelation does it even mention the Anti-Christ.( I know...you did not say anything about Revelation but that is what is being sent around to "prove" the Anti-Christ statements) So now everyone go get your Bible and start reading...lol

Ok Jabelson it wasn't me who said anything about anyone being the anti-chirist. In my life I have seen many people in power who were supposed to be the coming of the anti-christ. Not believing that junk anymore.

Not sure why it matters if she has ever read any publications or what the interviewer was trying to draw out of her when they asked the question. Why does that matter in these times of the internet and on line information. The interviewer should have been busy spending their time researching Obamas connections to extreme radicals and what influence they actually have over him. It appears to me that he is their Political Representative.

Come on Gabriel, have you been watching and listening to Obamas selection as Vice. Shouldn't be criticizing Palin if you have. Obama will probably have him locked in a toilet or broom closet before this is over with. There is no way she could be worse than him.

Ok Gabriel you need to go buy a tuba. That pan flute stuff is weak. By the way, if you are going to mention the $800,000.00 you should tell the whole story.

Oh, and before you all get up in arms about Jeuss running as a Democrat because "he wouldn't support abortion," I would suggest you look into how many current Supreme Court Justices are Republican nominees. You might also want to understand what Roe v. Wade actually does. Remember who controlled the House, Senate, and White House just a few years ago as well. You didn't see anybody wanting to overturn Roe v. Wade then, did ya? Of course not. What would they have to run on then? Obviously not foreign, domestic, or economic policy. Also, for those of you who are concerned about Obama's "ties," I would refer to the Bush family's ties to the bin Laden's and several Saudi Arabians. You might also want to check into what McCain and his wife were up to in the 80s. Oh, and Truth, the McCain camp member who said Palin was a diva and going off record probably doesn't want to reveal their name just yet...beings they work for her. That's common sense. However, you obviously will never trust the media so keep listening to Limbaugh, Hannity,and Coulter. I wouldn't watch anything other than Fox News either. As far as Palin and her lack of knowing any papers she read, or any Supreme Court cases she opposed...I figure if you're the Vice President to potentially the oldest President ever, you might want to start educating yourself and stop working on cute winks and one-liners. We do not need another four years of acting off gut feelings, and shooting first asking questions later. All of this garbage about Obama's "ties" is absurd. If you honestly believe that, I don't know what to tell you. I think you've been reading the Internet chain letter going around about "the enemy from within." I liked that one...I think it quotes Wikipedia. That's reliable. The McCain campaign is losing and throwing out as many potshots as they can, and calling Obama a socialist isn't working. They aren't getting more votes, because most rational Americans realize how ridiculous such accusations are.

Blacks supporting Obama were interviewed on the street in Harlem by a man working with Howard Stern's satelite radio program. There are uneducated people on both sides. Did you not see that poor elderly lady tell McCain that Barack was an Arab? He had to tell her no he wasn't. McCain said Barack was a good,honest family man. He said they just differed on policies.

If all the news you are getting is from the CBS one there in Cape then that is your problem. When I lived there I had problems with them relating to racism

Now J. you know Obama launched his Senate campaign from the living room of Ayers and you know that Ayers and his wife have both been responsible for bombings and the death of police officers. These are not good people and surely you wouldn't have them as friends. Most of Obama's supporters are drinking too much Kool Aid and couldn't recognize the truth if they seen it. All this tax stuff he is spouting is ridiculous. He doesn't have to do anything and the Democratically controlled Congress and Senate will take care of it for him. All he has to do is not veto. Soon the Bush tax cuts will expire and will not be renewed. Do you consider that a tax hike?

Tonight I put 20 gallon of gas in my vehicle. The tax on that 20 gallons was a little over $7.00. How many people in Missouri alone do you think paid a fuel tax today? Maybe a million or more. Our government is taxing us to death and blaming the oil companies for the high prices. Our government made more off that 20 gallons of gas than the oil companies did. I say no more taxes and anyone who mentions a tax increase for anyone, no matter how much they are making isn't getting my vote.

I had Rush Limbaugh in my social studies class in Cape Girardeau back in the day. I also was in the same room with the father of Mr. Ayers girlfriend who was killed back in the sixties when a bomb she was making blew up in her face.OH NO!!!!! I must be friends with a hate spewing radio host and a friend of terrorists. Oh NO!!!!! I had no idea. He was there then, in the home of an unrepentent terrorist. So a friend or co-worker of Obams wife was making bombs to blow people up. Finally, the turth is admitted, but with the usual caveat. It's OK, the party wasn't really for him. I just don't go to these kind of people's houses and drink tea with them and a person who wants to be President definetly shouldn't.

Where's the quote on McCain promising to go to war with Iran and what is Obama going to do? Is he going to pull all the troops out of Iraq the day after he is elected. He most certainly will not. If you have been watching the news, negotiations are under way with the Iraq government as to when all troops should be out already.

By the way,when Obama went to the party for Palmer Ayers was a Professor. I would hate to have to do a back ground check before I went to someones house for a party. Do you know everything about all of your friends and acquaintances? What about your family? Maybe some may have a secret...

As for war with Iran the writing is on the wall. Bush and McCain have already been setting it up. Just like they did with the Iraq war. It will be the same thing all over again.

You are missing again. The negotiations with Iran are a combined effort by several countries and the U.S. isn't even the lead in that.

The worst thing I have heard from Obama is he tells people he is going to save the world. Geesh! And People buy into this junk! He isn't going to save the world! He is no Saviour people! He cannot save anyone! You can promise change all you want! Here...I got 4 quarters for a dollar...how you spend it is another thing! He makes promises of change people, but what exactly are the changes, and what changes he can come up with; are they really good changes????

What normal American makes 250,000 a year folks????? Keep dreaming folks! The only change ahead with Obama in office is disaster!

Barack Obama is not going to Save the USA, let alone the world! Again, he does not want to be pres of the USA, but of the World. He may not be the Anti-Christ, but his agenda is not far from that tree.

He is a great talker, and will promise his crowds anything they want to hear. But when come push to shove, he cannot promise anything. Not even change! Now get real people!

According to the 2000 U.S. Census, Dexter has 25 families with income of $200,000 "or above." That's 0.9%. Four more individuals make over $200,000, to make the total 29 Dexter residents who will, I guess, pay more in taxes under Obama.

Funny how information gets misconstrued, though. Recently an acquaintance of mine insisted that under the Obama plan people who made less than $250,000 would not have to pay ANY taxes!

I am in Indiana and the early voters here have been waiting in lines for hours to vote so sorry to disappoint you but they are coming out in droves. Most of the people they interview are voting for Obama.

Politics is very serious business GL. A radio talk show host on KGO 810 am in San Francisco yelled over the air, "I want M__ F__ Joe the plumber dead." I called KGO and told them that they should immediately fire the host, whose name is Charles Karel Bouley, for advocating murder. BTW, KGO is also where Bernie Ward was a talk show host. Ward was sentenced in August 2008 to seven years and three months in federal prison for emailing child pornography.

Well folks, Palin is going to be doing a rally in Jeff City tomorrow morning. Hank Williams Jr will preform his remake of "Family Tradition"- "McCain Palin Tradition". And no, I haven't yet decided if I'm going to vote for Chuck Baldwin or for McCain. I'm scared of Obama's plans to pass the Freedom of Choice Act which would nullify every anti-abortion law on the books. I'm scared of his socialism and his gun control plans. Fact is, I'm scared he might be the anti-Christ if he's elected. My vote for Chuck Baldwin may be the vote that throws Missouri into his camp. Seriously folks, please Vote Pro-Life tomorrow!

Ok swift, Obama is not the anti-christ and if the American people vote him in, which I think they will do then that is their choice.

I won't help them do it because my heart won't let me but I will accept what they do. As a retired military veteran I can not vote for a person who has friends who were bombing our country while many such as McCain were being held as POW's and I don't think he understands what Iraq means to the so many that have served and sacrificed there.

I personally believe he is the political wing or representatives of some very radical groups, but we will see after he is in office. He really won't have to do much other than not veto the bills that the Democratic Congress and Senate send him.

After he becomes responsible for everything he may look at things a little different. When our security is his responsibility and the economy is on his shoulders and he finds out that it cost a lot more to produce wind mill energy than coal or oil. We will see.

Yep GL, I changed my mind at the last minute and voted against Obama by voting for Palin.

Truth, I know he's not the anti-Christ but the dude's far left ideas scare me and I had to think of what would happen if he indeed gets elected with a liberal congress (especially one with a filibuster proof majority0. I had to think of those judicial appointments he will make if he's elected and those laws he wants to pass. Too scary to risk voting third party in a tight race here in MO!

Rest assured that this country will survive swift. No one wants to be responsible for the down fall of this country. Once Obama accepts the oath of office he will not want history to judge him as the one person responsible for the down fall of the greatest country ever. Not that I like him mind you and you may not like his ideas, but I think maybe we have seen worse. Maybe we should thank our Lord that we had the opportunity to vote.

And about voting....I cast mine at about 6:30pm which was the first chance I had to get to the polls. By 10pm McCain was conceding. Do you think MY vote was even counted or made a difference? Somehow I doubt it.

I was on Bobby's blog when some creep called "lobster claws" tried to pull a dirty trick involving Hoon. Fortunately, Bobby caught it before more than (I'd say) two people saw it.

However, I think hoon got ticked off before that. Heck, he might be mad at me, for all I know.

Or maybe he did get elected to some office and is moving his stuff into his desk. Any way you look at it, I figure he's punishing us: "Okay, just see how boring these blogs will be without me!"

Hahaha! If the honey-sweet approach doesn't work, we could try saying outrageous liberal bed-wetting-type things, like, "Well, I think Missouri should pass a law to legalize same-sex marriage....and let's pass a law to give dogs the right to vote!!"

Ct, if you're trying to attract hoon back to the blogs (good luck with that), you're on the right track! I said I once had a dog with a better vocabulary than most five year olds, and I thought I'd never hear the end of his caustic remarks about how I didn't have anything better to do than sit around and count the vocabulary words that my dog understood!!

I.B., explain that business about the court system. I don't understand.

The court system is being used to legalize same sex marriage and in a liberal leaning society it is beginning to happen. It will be very hard for the courts to not agree that the prohibition on same sex marriage is discrimination. The same as they would agree that not allowing two people with blond hair to marry is discrimination. I think it is just a matter of time and the case in California will probably be the next case where the ban is overturned.

Sure it will and what is considered liberal today may well become accepted norm in the future.

A good example may be ther birth control pill. Do you remember the fury over the development and all that was said against it.

I remember that a lot of radio stations would not play Loretta Lynn's song "The Pill".

Wonder what everyone thinks about it today. I wouldn't dream of trying to take it away, even though the utilization of it was considered to be an unholy act at one time.
