SEMO News Service MALDEN, Mo. - The 16-year-old girl who went missing from Malden, Mo., on Jan. 19, has contacted family members, however, authorities have yet to locate the missing teen. According to Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder, on Thursday, Mandy Pearson, also known as Danielle Miller, made contact with family members via a telephone call, letting them know she is safe. NOREEN HYSLOP photo A Bloomfield woman sustained moderate injuries early Friday in a weather-related wreck on Rt. C just west of Advance. Cathy L. Bates, 38, was eastbound when she hit a patch of ice, ran off the roadway and overturned. She was taken by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital for treatment. The accident occurred at 6:30 a.m. The Highway Patrol also reported several accidents along Interstate 55 as a result of icy patches on the highway in the early morning hours of Friday...

By NOREEN HYSLOP Managing Editor ADVANCE, Mo. - A traffic stop Thursday led to the arrest of three individuals, each charged with possessing precursors to the manufacture of meth. All remain in the Stoddard County Jail. According to Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner, Advance Police Chief Donnie Bonsack was notified Thursday by a clerk at the Advance Dollar General Store that a male subject had been in the store purchasing a number of items commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. ...
