George Cates of Dudley, Mo., longtime owner of Cates Orchard, died late Thursday night, Sept 20, 2012, at the age of 92. Funeral services are incomplete but will be announced later by Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

George Cates, the son of the late Floyd and Ellen Johnson, was born in Pearland, Texas, on March 3, 1920, and died at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Sept. 20, 2012, at the age of 92.
