CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Cape Girardeau city leaders and executives of Midamerica Hotels have forged a new agreement on the city's restaurant and hotel taxes, bringing several possibilities for new tourism-related projects in the coming year. A Bloomfield man, Kenneth Allen, sustained injuries in a wreck just before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Allen, driving this 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, lost control on an icy Highway 25 as he was northbound near the Hwy. 60 overpass. His vehicle struck a highway sign and a traffic signal pole before coming to rest. Dexter's Extrication Team assisted local police at the wreck. Allen was transported by ambulance to SoutheastHEALTH Center of Stoddard County for treatment of his injuries...
