Four cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Stoddard County on Thursday

Ben Godwin, Director of the Stoddard County Health Center, confirmed four new cases of COVID-19 in Stoddard County on Thursday. Three of the cases are not related to the nursing home outbreak. The case that is related to the nursing home is a staff member and Godwin said this is believed to be a false positive. Further testing will be done over the next two days to determine if this is indeed a confirmed case...

Texas sex offender captured in Poplar Bluff, charged with attempt to solicit minor (Local News ~ 07/09/20)
SCURRY, TEXAS — A registered sex offender that was captured in Poplar Bluff is back in custody in Texas now after being indicted on new charges of online solicitation of a minor. Gregory Lee Battson, 49, was extradited to the Kaufman County, Texas jail Tuesday afternoon and booked with one count of “sell or purchase child for sexual performance” and one count “online solicit of a minor sexual conduct” according to jail records.
