School board chooses safe room location

Thursday, August 11, 2011

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - The Bloomfield School Board voted unanimously to build the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) safe room on the location north of the elementary building where a portion of a playground is located. The consensus of the board was that it would be the least expensive to erect the building there, and also the most convenient location for the students in the lower grades at the elementary. Board Member Ryan Mayo made the motion to locate the safe room at that location and Board Members Trevor Pulley, Don Lafferty, David Battles, John Newell and Bill Robison voted in favor of the motion. Board Member David Cooper was not present.
