Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Pauline Levart, 71, of rural Dexter, escaped serious injury Tuesday morning when the 2002 Buick she was driving ran off the right side of County Road 717 east of Dexter and overturned. The vehicle was northbound when the accident occurred about half a mile south of Hwy. 114 and came to rest after striking a tree. Dexter Fire Department's Extrication Team spent several minutes cutting away the driver's door of the car to free the woman before she was taken by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital for treatment of injuries deemed to be "moderate" by the patrol. Responding to the scene were Dexter Police, the Highway Patrol and Dexter Fire Department.
