Wreaths Across America

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Over 1,700 wreaths of Worcester Wreath Co. arrived at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield on Wednesday for the ceremony to be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. The wreaths left Columbia, Maine en route to Bloomfield. Prime, Inc. trucks were used at no cost to transport the wreaths. Mike Posey volunteered his time as the driver. Cpl. Ken Jones from Troop E escorted the truck from the Illinois line to Bloomfield. Members of the community sponsored enough wreaths to place one on each grave at the cemetery for the fifth consecutive year. Teresa Wright serves a fundraising chairperson for the event. Shown above are veteran Gary Kitchen, at left, and Cpl. Jones. Worchester Wreath Co. donates a ceremonial wreath for each branch of the military, plus one for the MIA/POWs.
