***Southeast MO Select Replacement Heifer Sale was next to being snow out. 
With sleet and ice plus 12-16 inches of drifting snow forced the consignors to 
haul their heifers in on Thursday, two days before the sale plus buyers 
concerned of hauling them home had adverse effect on demand.***

   Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness, 
pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They have 
undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred. There are 106 
A.I. bred heifers and majority were fetal sexed. Approximately 20 percent of the 
offering were Teir 2 Show Me Select heifers. This means that they have met 
requirements and are out high accuracy sires. Several herds have 6 to 7 generations
of stacked pedigrees. Several consignors feed their cattle and get top premium at 
U.S. Premium Beef on steers mates. All heifers are expected to calve from January 1 
to late April. Within the offering, there were 98 percent black or black white 
face, some Registered Angus, and Registered Simmentals. Heifers were graded and 
sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving dates and body type 
similarity. A smaller than averager crowd attended the sale due to weather 
conditions however the demand was stonger than our May sale. 

   Supply consisted of 184 bred heifers from 12 producers, in 87 lots selling 
to 29 different buyers, adverage weight 1093 lbs, with a sale average of 
$2065.00 per head. There were 28 head of Teir 2-AI bred heifers, with an 
average sale price of $2313.00; 10 head Teir 2 natural bred heifers, with an 
average price of $2040.00; 78 head Teir 1-AI bred heifers, with a average price 
$2074.00; 68 Teir 1 natural bred heifers, with an average price $1957.00, 
$2137.00 was the average price of all AI bred and $1967.00 average of natural 
bred heifers.

   Replacement Heifers: few Reg. Angus and Reg. Simmentals, Large 1-2 1130-
1310 lbs, 2nd and 3rd Stage $2500.00-$3100.00 per head; Medium 1-2  1010-1090 
lbs, 2nd and 3rd stage, $1800.00-$2300.00 per head; Large 1, 1123-1460 lbs, 2nd 
and 3rd stage, $1900.00-$2500.00 per head; Large 2, 1153-1368 lbs, 2nd and 3rd 
stage, $1800.00-$2300.00 per head; Medium 1, 957-1080 lbs, 2nd and 3rd stage, 
$1750.00-$2050.00 per head; few Medium 2, 865-978 lbs, 2nd and 3rd stage, 
$1700.00-$1900.00 per head.
