Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 08/22/2014

Friday, August 22, 2014

Most all the state received some rain in the last week with the heaviest rains
being recorded in the northern 1/3 of the state, several areas reporting 4-5
inches of total rainfall. Summer heat has arrived in full force so the moisture
was quite welcomed. The hay market continues to feel pressure from promises of
an overabundance of corn and pastures which have remained in good condition all
year. Supply is moderate, demand is light, and prices are steady to weak. The
Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers
and sellers. To be listed, or for a directory visit
