Dexter's Cecil earns national internship

Dexter native Macy Cecil is the recipient of the Rilla Moran Woods Internship provided by the National Federation of Democratic Women. The internship will be at the DNC Headquarters in Washington D.C. and will last a month. To qualify for the internship the applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 25, endorsed by her local Democratic Women's club and the State Federation Democratic Women's club. The applicant must also submit an application and essay detailing her political involvement, academic standing and how the internship would help her with her political ambitions. The purpose of the internship is to assist young women who have demonstrated an interest in Democratic politics at the local and state level to gain experience at the national level. Cecil is the lone recipient of this internship and will begin next summer. Cecil is a 2018 graduate of Dexter High School and the daughter of Jenny Oakley of Dexter and Tom Wright of Poplar Bluff.
