Stoddard County Commission activates Emergency Operations Center

Thursday, March 26, 2020

The Stoddard County Commission activated an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Thursday in response to the COVID-19 situation.

Stoddard County Emergency Management Director Kent Polsgrove said the three partners in the EOC are the Stoddard County Health Center, SouthHEALTH of Stoddard County and the Stoddard County Ambulance District.

Polsgrove stated the three entities will continue to serve the county as normal and not overlap onto each other. The EOC will allow the county to request additional supplies and personnel should they be needed. This excludes medical supplies which will be supplied through separate government programs.

Polsgrove said the EOC will allow the county to do what it can to assist law enforcement, fire departments and healthcare personnel.

The EOC, which is not open to the public, will start with a small number of personnel with the option to add more if needed.
