Stidham wins coroner position; Hefner, Jordan and Jarrell retain seats

The unofficial Stoddard County results of the August Primary are in and Stoddard County has selected a new coroner in Brent Stidham. Stidham held off Don Seymore by a count of 3,510 votes to 2,708.

Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner defeated challenger Tim McCoy 4,852 votes to 1,650. Both Steve Jordan and Carol Jarrell retained the Commissioner District I and II seats respectively.

Jordan held off J.W. Mattingly 2,061 to 1,029 while Jarrell won one of the tightest races of the evening. Jarrel received 1,465 votes to Jeff Riddle's 1,252 and Willard Adams' 465.

Stidham, Hefner, Jordan and Jarrell will all be unopposed on the November ballot in the General Election.

Josh Speakman defeated Gabe Hazel to win the Pike Township Committeeman position 390 votes to 370. Gerald Griffin won Castor Township Committeeman position defeating Robert Frazier 823 votes to 327.

Jason Bean won the Stoddard County vote in the race for the 25th District Senate seat. Bean received 2,596 votes, Jeff Shawan received 1,376, Stephen Carrol Cookson received 1,354 and Eddy Justice 1,066.

Stoddard County defeated Constitutional Amendment two by a vote of 4,961 to 1,823.
