The Stooddard County Health Center has linked a large number of positive COVID-19 cases to the Women's Abide Conference at the Assembly Church in Bloomfield. The conference took place on the evening of October 2 and the afternoon of October 3.

"We are attempting to make contact with everyone who has been listed as a close contact,” said Ben Godwin, Director of the Stoddard County Health Center, in a social media release. “However if you were in attendance of this conference and have not heard from the Health Department, you should also consider you may have been exposed to the virus.”

Godwin said the health department recommends those who attended the event should monitor their health closely and monitor for symptoms. If anyone who attended should begin experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19, they should contact their physician and let them know about the potential exposure.

“This virus is stil very present here in Stoddard County and is still affecting the lives of many of our residents,” said Godwin. “Please do your best to protect yourself and your loved ones at all times. Hand washing, Social Distancing and wearing a mask go along way in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Please, be safe and be smart.”
