Area scouts announce alternate plans for Scouting for Food drive

Tuesday, November 10, 2020

The area Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts have changed their plans for their annual food drive. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the scouts will not be permitted to distribute the food bags and collect them as planned. Instead a collection booth will be located at Morlan Nissan the next two Saturdays (November 14 and 21) from 9 a.m. to noon.

Anyone wishing to donate can drop off canned food or dry goods at the booth. Additionally, Scouting for Food bags are being distributed this week to the students at T.S. Hill Middle School and can be dropped off at Morlan Nissan or returned to the school.

All of the food gathered by local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts is taken to the Stoddard County Gospel Mission for distribution during the upcoming holiday season.
