101 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Stoddard County; large turnout at testing event

Ben Godwin, the director of the Stoddard County Health Center , has confirmed 101 new cases of COVID-19 Monday afternoon. Of the new cases, 26 were confirmed over the weekend and 75 on Monday.

Godwin said approximately 280 residents participated in the testing clinic held at the Lighthouse Church on Friday. Godwin stated that the health department will contact everyone who tested positive. Godwin asked that no one call the Stoddard County Health Center for results due to the phones and staff being overwhelmed with calls concerning COVID-19. Godwin asked for patience saying it could take 24 to 36 hours to contact everyone.

Godwin also confirmed 74 recoveries on Monday. The county now sits at 1684 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 377 active, 1276 recovered and 31 deaths.

Broken down by age group the cases are 0 to 19 227, 20 to 29 235 cases, 30 to 39 220 cases, 40 to 49 264 cases, 50 to 59 221 cases, 60 to 69 211 cases, 70 to 79 170 cases and 80-plus 136 cases. Broken down by gender the county has confirmed 705 cases in males and 979 cases in females.
