UPDATE: Missing man located and is safe

Robert Watts, who was reported missing after traveling to Chicago this past weekend, has been located. Captain Josh Benton with the Dexter Police Department said in a news release that Watts was located in Chicago and is safe.

The Dexter Police Department said the 61 year old Watts traveled to Chicago over the weekend to attend a friend’s funeral.

Watts was reported to have checked out of Ashland Hotel in Chicago at 2 a.m. on Monday, October 11, leaving his cell phone behind. Watt’s cell phone was subsequently located by an employee of the hotel.

The Dexter Police Department extended their thanks to everyone who helped locate Watts.
