Bloomfield Schools alter dismissal plans this afternoon due to weather

Wednesday, March 30, 2022

The Bloomfield School District has announced via social media that its students will be kept on campus this afternoon until after the predicted storms pass through the area.

“After watching the noon weather, it looks like the storm is going to be on top of our district during dismissal and bus route time,” said Bloomfield Superintendent Toni Hill. “At this time, we will be keeping students on campus until the storm threat passes. Predictions seem to indicate this will be around 4 p.m.”

Hill further said if a parent/guardian would like to check their student out early, to do so by 2:30 p.m. She said phones would not be answered after 2:30 p.m.

“All students and staff will go to the FEMA gym at 2:30 to wait for the storm to pass,” said Hill. “Phones will not be answered after 2:30 pm. Access to the FEMA gym will only be available through the south doors. Our first priority is the safety of our students and staff and will be monitoring weather for any changes in plans.”
