DHS Art Students excel at art shows

Dexter High School art students earned multiple awards at three recent shows, the 19th Annual Juried Regional High School Art Exhibit, 44th Annual Depot Museum Regional High School Art Show and the 8th Annual Congressional Art Competition.

DHS
had three students whose pieces placed in this year's top 20 at the
8th Annual Congressional Art Competition. They are from left: Addyson
Green, Jillian Avery and Savannah Gourley. Avery and Gourley had
multiple pieces in the top 20.

In
the 19th Annual Juried Regional High School Art Exhibit at the
Margaret Harwell Art Musem DHS had three students earn awards. In the
drawing category Adison Green placed second while Jillian Avery and
Savannah Gourley each received an honorable mention. In painting
Gourley earned first place and Avery received an honorable mention.
In the mixed media category Gourley placed second and received an
honorable mention. Avery received two honorable mentions. Pictured

the 44th Sikeston Depot Museum Regional High School Art Show DHS had
six students earn awards. In the drawing category Gerica Harris
earned Best of Show, Leneya Callaway placed second, Savannah Gourley
placed third and Maycie Martin received an honorable mention. Gourley
placed first in the painting category. Martin placed first in mixed
media and Addison Green received an honorable mention. Jillian Avery
placed third in printmaking. Pictured from left are Green, Avery,
