2020 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction

The annual 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction was held at the Stoddard County Fair Grounds in Dexter Saturday morning. This annual event is usually held as part of the Stoddard County Fair. However the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of the fair this year. The fair board decided to go ahead with the auction. SENO Livestock Auction and Huey Auction Service conducted the auction. All entrants were members of 4H and/or FFA. Some of the kids had more than one entry in the sale. The owner of the grand champion 4-H steer opted not to sell the animal.

Elezabeth Kight sold the Grand Champion FFA Steer for $6 a pound the steer weighed in at 1,450 pounds. She later sold a second steer weighing 1,215 pounds for $2.30 a pound.
Damon Stearns sold his 1,250 pound steer for $2.50 a pound. The steer placed 2nd in the FFA heavy division.
Wyatt Hendley 974 pound steer sold for $2.60 a pound. the steer placed 2nd in the FFA light division.
Maggie Reinhart brings her steer forward to be auctioned. The steer, which placed 1st in the 4-H light division, weighed in at 986 pound and sold for $2.90.
Lily Stephens' 4-H Reserve champion steer sold for $2.80 a pound. The steer weighed in at 1,080.
Katie Hendley shows her Reserve Champion 4-H steer. The steer weighed in at 1,115 pounds and sold for $2.05 a pound.
Jacob Lutmer's 4-H Grand Champion sheep brought $6.00 a pound. The goat weighed in at 133 pounds.
Patrick Lutmer's 4-H Reserve Champion sheep brought $6.00 a pound. The goat weighed in at 132 pound.
Mauro Gonzalez 37 pound sheep sold for $6.30 a pound. The goat placed 3rd in the 4-H light division.
Collin Anthony's 45 pound sheep sold for $8.00 a pound. The sheep placed 2nd in the 4-H light division.

Casen Hemby's 4-H Grand Champion swine sold for $2.20 a pound. The swine weighed 310 pounds.
The FFA Grand Champion swined owned by Dalton Andrews sold for $2.00 a pound. The animal weighed 239 pounds.
