2021 National Day of Prayer

The Dexter Ministerial Alliance hosted the annual National Day of Prayer in front of Dexter City Hall. The first Thursday in May was established as the National Day of Prayer by congress and President Ronald Reagan in 1988. The event brings together communities across the nation to pray for local, state and national leaders.

The opening invocation was lead by Jayne Markin, Pastor at the Bernie First United Methodist Church and Sadlers Chapel.

Larry Lawman, Pastor at the Dexter First United Methodist Church, lead the prayer for the judicial system.

Tim Russell, Pastor at the Lighthouse Church, lead the prayer for medical workers.

Kenneth Biggs, Pastor at the First General Baptist Church, lead the prayer for firefighters.

Dexter Police Chief Hank Trout lead the prayer for police officers.

Local residents stand in silent prayer during the service.

Lonnie Mittag, Pastor at Friendship Baptist Church, lead the prayer for the military.

Doug West, Pastor at the First Church of the Nazarene, lead the prayer for the educational system.

Darin Kleeman, Pastor at Mile City Christian Church, lead the prayer for federal officials.

Dexter City Administrator, Trevor Pulley, lead the prayer for local officials.

Eathon Kincy, from the First United Methodist Church, performed two songs, "Jesus, Friend of Sinners" and "I am Proud to be an American".
