Miss DHS Crowned

The 2022/23 Miss DHS Court from left First Alternate Kylah Hill,  the daughter of Cory Hill and Sara Davis; Miss DHS Hannah Guy, the daughter of Erik and Sharon Guy and  Second Alternate Callie Whitaker, the daughter of Melissa Whitaker and Joe Whitaker.

Destiny Ahrens - She is the daughter of Ronald and Tasha Ahrens. Destiny is a member of the varsity girls tennis team,National Beta Club, Deca, FBLA, HOSA, and National Honor Society. After high school, Destiny plans to attend Lee University and major in nursing.Destiny's escort is Ryan Young. Ryan is the son of Josh and Jessica Young. Ryan described Destiny as smart, funny, and kind.

Shelby Dawson - She is the daughter of Tarry and Catrina Dawson. Shelby is a member of National Beta Club, Student Council, National Honors Society, FBLA, and Pep Club. She is also a member of the yearbook staff and the broadcasting class. Shelby's future plans include attending a four-year university and majoring in education.Cy Scott is escorting Shelby today. Ellie Dowdy -  Ellie is the daughter of Josh and Alana Dowdy. She is a member of the varsity basketball cheer team and DHS competitive cheer team. Ellie is also a member of student council, National Beta Club, FCA, FBLA, HOSA, pep club, and National Honor Society. She is also in the top 10% of her class. Ellie plans to attend Ole Miss next fall and major in business administration. Ellie's brother Ben is escorting her. The 3 words Ben used to describe his sister are smart, stubborn, and scary.

Hannah Guy -  She is the daughter of Erik and Sharon Guy. Hannah is a member of National Beta Club, FBLA, Book Club, Scholar Bowl, National Honor Society, and marching band. In the future,Hannah plans to attend a 4-year college and major in English. She would eventually like to become a professional editor or writer. Eric Harmon is escorting Hannah today. Kylah Hill - Hill is the daughter of Cory Hill and Sara Davis, is our next candidate.Kylah's activities include choir, DHS Pep Club, and FCCLA. She plans to attend SEMO and pursue a degree in Special Education after graduation. Kylah's escort is Jett Grams, the son of Jeremy and Kelly Grams. Jett described Kyla as loving, sweet, and funny.

Jayci Holcomb - Jayci is the daughter of Ray and Heather Carrillo. She is a member of student council, Beta, National Honor Society, DECA, FBLA, the DHS basketball cheer team, and the DHS competitive cheer team. After graduation, Jayci plans to attend a four-year university and major in entrepreneurship with a minor in marketing. Peyton Boles is escorting Jayci. Peyton is the son of Eric and Kristi Boles. Alise Howell. Alise is the daughter of Meghan Burris and Joshua Howell. Alise's activities include Beta, National Honor Society,FBLA, National Society of High School Scholars, Educational Talent Search,Scholar Bowl, and varsity tennis. Alise's future plans include earning her associates degree from Three Rives College and then transferring to a4-year university to complete her bachelors degree in mathematics with a minor in business. Tristan Koonce is escorting Alise today. Tristan is the son of Stacie Wyatt. Tristan described Alise as passionate, elegant, and thoughtful.

Molly Simmons, the daughter of Lara and Jonathan Simmons is the next candidate. Molly plays varsity volleyball and softball. Her other activities include broadcasting, theatre, Beta, DECA, FBLA, Pep Club, and National Honors Society. Molly plans to attend the University of Missouri and major in journalism after graduation. Andrew Saylors escorted Molly. Andrew is the son of Corey Saylors and Nicki Buttry. The words Andrew used to describe Molly are witty, funny, and slightly annoying.

Callie Whitaker - She is the daughter of Melissa Whitaker and Joe Whitaker. Callie is a member of FCCLA, FCA, DHS competitive cheer team, varsity football cheer team, and the dance team. In the future, Callie plans to attend college and cheer for two years. Then, she plans to go to cosmetology school and become an licensed cosmetologist. Callie's escort is Cole Gibson, the son of Sarah and Nathan Gibson. Cole describes Callie as gorgeous, elegant, and loving.

Gabrielle Young - The daughter of Misty and Tracy Young. Gabrielle is the treasurer of FCCLA. She is also a member of DECA, Pep Club, Student Council, Honors Choir, Broadcasting class, and yearbook staff. Her escort is Chris Stone. He is the son of Matt and Christin Stone.Chris describes Gabby as vibrant, bold, and fun.

Retiring Queen - Miss DHS 2021-22, Rachel Lin. Rachel is the daughter of Min Lin. Rachel is a freshman at University of Missouri. She is majoring in health sciences with a pre-professional emphasis, and she is minoring in art. Rachel is doing undergrad research in visual arts and design. She is also a senator for the Missouri Students Association. She is also a member of the Pre-Med Society, Fighting Pretty, Asian-American Association, MU Women in Stem, and Mizzou Empowers Refugees and Immigrants Club. After graduating with her bachelor's degree, Rachel plans to attend medical school. Rachel's brother, Richard Lin escorted her. Richard describes his sister as inventive, persistent, and short.
