The U.S. Army National Guard and the U.S. Navy are holding Innovative Readiness Training to offer free health services (medical, dental and vision) in Dexter at the Lighthouse Church through July 23. The program started July 13. It will not be open on Sunday, July 19. The services are provided on a first come, first served basis, with no appointments being taken. No insurance or income information is required. Medical services include screenings and evaluations, non-emergency medical treatments and basic prescriptions. No lab work will be performed. There will be no immunizations or OBGYN examinations. Dental services include basic fillings and tooth extractions. No crowns or restorative work will be done. Vision services include vision screenings, prescriptions and one free pair of prescription glasses. No bifocals or trifocals will be prescribed. All services are provided to individuals from age two and up, with no exceptions. Services begin at 8 a.m. and proceed until 5 p.m. each day. The Lighthouse Church is providing the location, but not affiliated with the event. Military personnel were busy on the second day with 77 patients for the vision clinic and even larger numbers for the medical and dental services.
