The 7th Annual Ride for a Cure left the Dexter Elks Lodge Saturday morning. The ride, held by the Throttle Kings and Queens, is a dice run which makes five stops with the first and fifth at the Elks Lodge and the other three stops are located in the Wappapello, Greenville and Duck Creek areas. The event is held in honor of Dexter resident Larry Mar onay, who passed away in 2010 following a battle with cancer. In addition to the ride a 50/50drawing, raffle, silent auction and the sale of souvenirs takes place. All proceeds from the event go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The first six rides have raised a total of about $32,000 for the hospital.
