Thefts continue to plague area

Local authorities continue to witness a rash of thefts in the area - from items taken from unlocked vehicles to copper and flatbed trailers - theft seems to be on the rise. "People are still leaving their vehicles parked and unlocked," says Dexter's Assistant Police Chief Charles Sanders. Patient airlifted from Bell City crash

As of presstime, little is known of a rollover accident that occurred early Friday morning. According to emergency radio reports, the accident involved a vehicle rollover on Hwy. 91 approximately three-quarters of a mile west of Bell City. At least one of two patients was being air lifted from the scene. There is no further information at this time...

Dexter looks to turn things around in 2011

A young Dexter volleyball team and a first-year coach suffered through an up-and-down season last year, but the Lady Bearcats are hoping turn things around in 2011. Last year Dexter posted a 14-16-1 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the Stoddard County Activities Association (SCAA) under first year coach Lauren Hutchcraft. But with five returning starters and some new faces on the rosters, look for the Lady 'Cats to be a much improved team this time around...
