Veterans Cemetery employee selected for state honor

Tammy Smith, Cemetery Representative and Senior Office Support Assistant for the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery at Bloomfield, was named Missouri Veterans Commission employee of the month for November in a short ceremony yesterday. Smith was selected out of a total of 1,700 people to receive the honor. Smith works hard at assisting veterans and family members on a daily basis during many occasions of high stress. Deadline nears for Wreaths donations

By MIKE MCCOY The deadline for sponsorship fund for Wreaths Across America at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield is Nov. 28. The event will take place Saturday, Dec. 10. This will mark the fourth year that wreaths have been placed on graves at the cemetery and the second year in which sponsors hope to obtain enough funding for wreaths for every grave site...

Frances M. Lee, daughter of the late Clarence and Flora Reed Moore, was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Advance, Mo., and died at her home in Advance on Nov. 10, 2011, at the age of 87. Mrs. Lee lived in Advance most of her life. She did reside in Webster Groves, Mo., for a time before moving back to Advance.
