City's downtown paving/drainage project complete

A project begun by the City of Dexter at the beginning of the summer was completed Wednesday afternoon. The downtown area received major infrastructure upgrades including paving and drainage work. The project was done in three phases. Phase One was in 2011 when a company came to clean and inspect the drainage system. Phase Two was the process of lining the drainage system. POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (AP) -- A 5-year-old girl abducted from her Poplar Bluff home was found safe hours later Wednesday, and the convicted sex offender accused of taking her is in police custody. ADVANCE, Mo. -- A Bloomfield man is in serious condition following a wreck Wednesday morning on Highway 25, one mile south of Advance. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Kelly Cagle was northbound when his vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, drove into the southbound land, striking another pickup head-on. That vehicle, a 204 Dodge Ram, was driven by 18-year-old Rosa Stoltzfus of Advance, who was uninjured. The patrol report states she was searing her safety device...
