Miss October Calendar Girl is Alexis May, daughter of Perry May and Patty May. She is a sophomore at DHS and is involved in FCA, FLC, Teenage Republican Club, STUCO, and volunteers as a church camp counselor. She also plays high school tennis at DHS and runs track. E-waste disposal project proves popular in Missouri Bootheel

The recently completed e-waste pickup in Dexter generated eleven tons of electronics for disposal in addition to 139 computer monitors, 16 microwaves and 11,000 pounds of televisions and wood console televisions. "The amount of recycled electronics surpassed anything I could have anticipated," said Willard Adams, coordinator for the Bootheel Solid Waste Management District. The local congregation witnessed firsthand how the disease slowly and painfully claims a life. They lost their longtime pastor, Rev. Vaughn Wright, in 2010 to the disease, and they have honored his memory each October since by sponsoring a walk/run in his honor...
