Faurecia's FUELS program nets 15,661 lbs. of food for local mission

Dexter's Faurecia plant recently presented their annual donation of food to the Stoddard County Gospel Mission, including canned goods, rice, and non-perishable items. This year's contribution totaled 15,661 pounds of food for the mission's food pantry. A good part of the donations will be utilized during the upcoming holiday season as the local mission, with the help of volunteers, puts together and distributes holiday food baskets to the needy in Stoddard County...

Prices for winter road salt going up as bad winter predicted

Prices for road salt have escalated in the wake of the snow and ice last winter, and street and highway maintenance supervisors are trying to stock up for the approaching winter. Dexter Administrator Mark Stidham said the city purchased enough road salt for the winter about a month ago. The road salt was purchased from a Texas supplier at $150 per ton. That is considerably higher than a few years ago, but lower than the current price. He said he has heard of prices as high as $155 per ton...
