Dexter School Board tours construction sites; considers medical marijuana policy

The Dexter School Board toured construction zones at the middle school, high school and Charles Bland Stadium prior to the regular meeting July 23. The board was also presented a proposed medical marijuana policy for consideration. This tour gave the school board a chance to see the progress of some of the renovations taking place. The tour did not include Central Elementary or Southwest Elementary as those renovations have not progressed as far as the other projects...

Duck banding event August 3

The Missouri Department of Conservation and Ducks Unlimited will host the annual duck banding event at Otter Slough Conservation Area. The event will take place on Saturday, August 3 at 7 a.m. An electrofishing demonstration will take place during the event as well. Special prosecutor will not seek charges after Stoddard County election investigation

A special prosecutor will not seek charges against Stoddard County Clerk Cecil Weeks following an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol into whether the April 2 municipal election was fraudulently certified. "After looking through reports and questioning witnesses of my own, I've come to the conclusion that I would not be able to meet the elements necessary to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Cecil Weeks willfully and fraudulently certified that election," said Butler County Prosecuting Attorney Kacey Proctor, who was appointed the case.. ...
