Stoddard County confirms 16th case of COVID-19

Stoddard County has confirmed its 16th case of COVID-19. One new case is a female employed at Sikeston and is in quarantine. The second is a child of a couple who previously tested positive for COVID-19. The child was already in quarantine. 21st COVID-19 case announced in Butler County

According to the Butler County Health Department, two patients are hospitalized with the virus and eight have recovered. The other 11 patients are unknown. Nine patients are female and 12 male.

Ilene E. Worth, daughter of the late Arthur Lee Smith and Elma Rogers Smith, was born on April 8, 1932 in Essex and departed this life on April 17, 2020 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter at the age of 88 years. Mrs. Worth was a former bookkeeper for Malone & Hyde in Sikeston. She was a member of the Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex and the Essex Order of the Eastern Star. Also, she and her husband were pastors of numerous General Baptist Churches in the area.
