The Dexter School District ran a district wide competition designed to help others from November 16 until December 14. The district held a canned food drive which Superintendent Amy James said is an opportunity to give back to the community. Stoddard County confirms 12 new cases of COVID-19; 13 recoveries

The director of the Stoddard County Health Center, Ben Godwin, has confirmed 12 new cases of COVID-19 in Stoddard County along with 13 recoveries. The county sits at 2,516 confirmed cases with 121 active cases with 2,339 recoveries and 56 deaths. Broken down by age group the cases are 0 to 19 362 cases, 20 to 29 338 cases, 30 to 39 323 cases, 40 to 49 388 cases, 50 to 59 328 cases, 60 to 69 332 cases, 70 to 79 252 cases and 80-plus 193 cases. ...

Area judge says could be summer before jury trials resume

The courts in the 35th Judicial Circuit will continue to operate at phase zero for the rest of the year in both Stoddard and Dunklin counties. Presiding Circuit Judge Robert Mayer signed an order Dec. 2 lowering the circuits operating phase from one to zero due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in both counties and among court-related personnel. His order was in effect until Thursday, and it applied to all state and municipal courts in both counties...
