BLOOMFIELD — Kristi Baker, 4H youth development specialist, spoke to the Stoddard County Commissioners on Monday morning regarding what the county’s University of Missouri Extension programs accomplished in a COVID-plagued 2021. Presiding commissioner Danny Talkington asked how COVID regulations affected the Matter of Balance program. Stoddard County Commission to apply for grant to purchase outdoor warning sirens

BLOOMFIELD — The Stoddard County Commissioners voted during Monday’s meeting to look into purchasing three new outdoor warning sirens for rural areas near Bloomfield and Dexter. The commissioners voted 3-0 to apply for a federal grant to purchase three outdoor warning sirens. The grant is worth $175,000, and the county is responsible for 25% of the cost, or $43,750.
