Wreaths Across America at Veterans Cemetery

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Retired Air Force Sgt. Darryl LaPierre places a ceremonial Christmas wreath representing the Air Force at the 2013 Wreaths Across America ceremony held Saturday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Seven ceremonial wreaths for each branch of the military -- Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and POW/MIAs -- were placed in honor of those who have served their country. The ceremonial wreaths were donated by Worcester Wreaths. Money to purchase Christmas wreaths for all the gravesites at the cemetery was donated by individuals, civic groups, businesses and churches. Around 300 people turned out for the ceremony. Families and volunteers, helped place the wreaths on the gravesites following the brief ceremony presided over by Randy Dunn.
