Area churches and volunteers came out in force on Saturday, July 2, 2014 to help children and their parents prepare for the upcoming school year.

"No one could believe how much our churches gave to this effort!" said volunteer Bev Rhodes. "Nine churches and nine schools were involved. The churches donated between $2500 and $3000 and fed 300 people. We estimate that each child attending the event took home $25 worth of products."

Two volunteer barbers cut hair from 9 a.m. to noon and reportedly trimmed well over 75 customers.

Food, school supplies, school information, and haircuts were on the agenda Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, as nine churches and schools banded together to help get kids ready for school.

The date has already been set for the next Back to School Bash--Aug. 1, 2015.
