On Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, third grade students in Advance and Bell City received a very useful donation from the Dexter Elks Club.

Each student was given his/her very own dictionary.

"We are so grateful for this gift!" said Julie Richardson, Bell City third grade teacher. "We use these dictionaries in our daily lessons, and students keep them in their desks or backpacks."

Advance teachers Kaci Cooper and Ashley Raines echoed the sentiment, when their students received the dictionaries.

2014 marks the fifth year that the Dexter Elks have distributed dictionaries to all the Stoddard County schools.

The Dictionary Project was founded in 1995 by Mary French of Charleston, SC. The Dexter Elks Lodge has distributed over 2,000 dictionaries at the elementary in the past six years. Over one million dictionaries have been distributed nationwide.
