Local woman seriously injured

An early morning wreck Thursday left a Dexter woman with serious injuries. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kathy S. Durbin, 56, was southbound on Highway 25, three miles south of Bloomfield, when her 2007 Mercury Montego ran off the right side of the highway, overturned and struck several small trees. Dexter Fire Department's Extrication Team was summoned to the scene just after 5 a.m. to assist in removing Durbin from the vehicle. She was taken by Stoddard County EMS to SoutheastHEALTH in Dexter. Also assisting the Highway Patrol with the wreck were Bloomfield Police, and members of the Stoddard County Sheriff's office. She was equipped with a seat belt at the time of the wreck.
