Butler County reports 6th positive case, well above state numbers for county

Tuesday, April 7, 2020

Two more positive case of COVID-19 have been announced for Butler County, for a total of six.

The two recent individuals are self isolating, said Emily Goodin of the Butler County Health Department.

The health department is not releasing any additional information about the patients.

Butler County’s first resident to test positive was announced March 31.

The state of Missouri tracks the number of positive cases but there appear to be delays in the updates posted to its page on the Health and Senior Services website.

Butler County, for example, is still listed with two cases as of 11 a.m. Tuesday, although now six cases have been announced.

The state website said it was updated as of 2 p.m. April 6, however Butler County’s third positive case was announced Friday, April 3, and it’s fourth positive case was announced at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6.

As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, other area counties reported the following positive cases on the state website:

Carter - 3

Dunklin - 8

Reynolds - 2

Ripley - 2

Stoddard - 7

Wayne - 0
