Dexter City Administrator Mark Stidham died Wednesday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas following a battle with COVID-19.

“It is a great loss for our city. The leadership he provided for over 20 years has been a great help to our city and improved us in both function and financially,” said Dexter Mayor Jason Banken. “It is a devastating loss to the city. I feel number one for his family and the loss they are suffering. As a city, it is a great loss as well, and we are all saddened at this news.”

Banken said Stidham was the only city administrator Dexter has had since the inception of the position over 20 years ago. Banken went on to say that Stidham continued to work on behalf of the city from his hospital room for as long as he was able.

A full story and obituary will be released when they become available.
