Stoddard County confirms 8 new cases of COVID-19; releases new community breakdown

Ben Godwin, Director of the Stoddard County Health Center, has confirmed 8 new cases of COVID-19 and released an updated community breakdown of active cases. Additionally Godwin confirmed 16 recoveries.

The county now sits at 2,975 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 71 active, 2,843 recovered and 61 deaths.

“We are not asking that you avoid gatherings,” said Godwin. “But we do ask that you be mindful of your surroundings and do what you can to practice social distancing.”

Godwin released an updated community breakdown of active cases in the county.

“Keep in mind, the situation is very serious in all of Stoddard County,” said Godwin. “Not just in the in the communities listed.”

Dexter has 33 active cases, Bloomfield 12, Puxico 11, Bernie, Bell City and Dudley each with 4 and Advance 2.

“We cannot express enough, how important it is for you to social distance yourselves from others,” said Godwin. “Masking, while not mandatory, is highly recommended while in groups.”
