Winter weather may keep students off campus but it doesn’t stop classes

Southeast Missouri was hit with icy weather last week and over the weekend, and most schools missed multiple days due to the weather. School districts account for snow days when the calendar is constructed for the school year, but if the days allotted are exceeded, the district is forced to find a way to make up these days. Giving up previously scheduled days off and tacking on days to the end of the school year are a few ways to do this.
