Homicide investigation underway in Dexter

A homicide investigation is underway in Dexter. According to Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham and the Dexter Police Department, at 6:14 Saturday morning the Dexter Police Department was was dispatched to a residence on Alice Street.

Authorities said officers located a deceased juvenile that had suffered a gunshot wound inside the residence.

Authorities said the Stoddard County Major Case Squad was activated and a juvenile suspect was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story and more information will be released as it becomes available from authorities.
