Dexter Schools honors retiring teachers

Four teachers were honored at a retirement tea at the Bearcat Event Center. Tamera Crowley, Kelly Flowers, Lee Ann Nelson and Clinton Twaddell leave with a combined 83 years of service to Dexter Schools. Each was presented a framed certificate of appreciation by Jim Reiker, representing the Dexter School Board.

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } Clinton Twaddell graduated from SEMO in 1990 with a B.S. in Education. Twaddell spent two years as the kindergarten through eighth art teacher at the New Haven School District and 10 years teaching art at Richland High School. In 2002he was hired at Dexter High School to teach art. Twaddell is retiring with 17 of 29 years of service to the Dexter School District.

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } Lee Ann Nelson graduated from SEMO in 1985 with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. In 2002 she earned her Masters of Science in Education at Southwest Baptist University. In 1986 Nelson began her teaching career as a kindergarten teacher in Malden. In 1995 she was hired to teach first grade at Southwest Elementary. Nelson retires with 24 of her 26 years of service to the Dexter School District.

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } Kelly Flowers graduated in 1984 from SEMO with a B.S. in Social Services, Psychology and Education. In 2006 she graduated with her Masters in school counseling. Flowers was employed by Dexter Public Schools in 2005 to teach at the Stoddard County Alternative School in Bloomfield. In 2007 she was hired as a special services teacher at Central Elementary. Flowers is retiring with 14 years of service to the Dexter School District.

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } Tamara Crowley graduated from SEMO in 1988 with a B.S. in Marketing. In 1990 she received a B.S. in Business Education, then earned her Masters in Education from Southwest Baptist University in 1998. Her teaching career began in 1991 as the Cooperative Career Education Supervisor/Vocational Business Teacher at Dexter High School. Crowley is retiring with 28 years of service to the Dexter Public School District.
