SCAD to conduct "Home for the Holidays"

On Thanksgiving Day next week, Nov. 22, the Stoddard County Ambulance District will be conducting its 27th annual "Home for the Holidays" project. Ambulance personnel will be taking patients who are unable to travel except by ambulance from the nursing homes of Stoddard County to residences within the county. This service is available to any patient who is not ambulatory and would like to spend some time with family during the Thanksgiving Holiday...

Time for "Reindeer Games"

Second grade students at Southwest Elementary performed "The Reindeer Games" for the students and staff on Thursday afternoon and again for the public Thursday evening. Efforts of local volunteer honored through O.A.K.S. donation

With the focus on veterans this week, it seemed only appropriate that in the name of one of Dexter's most treasured public servants and a veteran himself, a $1,000 donation has been presented to the O.A.K.S. Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program. Pete Snider, a lifelong Dexter resident who now resides at the Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, was one of the most familiar faces at the local Senior Center for many years, having begun his volunteerism to the center shortly after the program got on its feet.. ...

The Bernie Mules have received the No. 1 seed in the Campbell Invitational varsity boys basketball tournament. Claus for a Cause Sunday

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- The fourth annual Claus for a Cause event will be held this Sunday, Nov. 18 from 3 until 5 p.m. at Bloomfield's Trinity United Methodist Church. Julie Dodd is a kindergarten teacher at Bloomfield and a part-time photographer. She is aided by Dexter's Amy Ellinghouse in taking photos of children with Santa.
