Palin: Pit Bull or Victim?
I don't know that I'm ready to post another blog, but things seem to have stalemated around here, so we need to get moving again! Imagine my surprise yesterday afternoon, when the ole UPS truck came ripping over my levee road, throwing tree branches into the pond, and delivering a Palin biography called, "Sarah: How a hocky mom turned Alaska's political establishment upside down."
Mmmmmmm....Seems the book was sent by one of my blogger buddies. Are we hinting at something, guys?
I guess I need to burn the midnight oil and do some beefing up on the G.O.P. Powerhouse. I hope I can accomplish this reading task; it's a bit sugary for my taste, I fear!
This same generous and enterprising blogger informs me of a massive Dem assault on Palin, much as the mysterious, nameless Internet slammers have done with Obama. I understand that Sarah, too, is now being compared to the "devil."
Have any of you out there in bloggerland heard of this insidious smear campaign and care to share some carefully chosen items of interest? Keep it under control, folks. I have such a weak stomach for politics....
I should stay out of this - but isn't that a cute take-off on the old WWII poster my sister sent me?? The Palin political cartoons are really, really clever - but I'm not sure about the legality of posting them.
Actually, I'm thinking of a hummingbird blog next... That should be a nice, lightweight topic, don'tcha think? (Get it? Get it?)
From the dark and windswept hills of the Tillman Outback, this is your rural journalist, doin' the best she can with what she has left...

Gemini, I appreciate your research very much, even if some of our bloggers don't feel the same way.
I debated on deleting some of the roughest comments, but I decided to let them stand, so people could see what's out there. In the light of the latest poll results on race, this discussion is super relevant. Did you hear this morning that 30% of whites polled said that they had some misgivings about blacks? In this part of the country, the figure may be significantly higher.
You have a good point about the percentage of blacks having misgivings about whites. It may well be higher than one third. However, I think this particular poll might have been intended to predict how whites would vote in this election. Still, I would definitely be interested in a reverse poll!
I've already heard that most of the black voters are going for Obama, but I have black friends who are conservative, and NO WAY would they vote for him!
I have to admit that she handles herself pretty well - quite poised and ladylike in that red swimsuit. Of course, on my dial-up system here at home, it takes her about 15 minutes to make the entire stage appearance.
Thanks, FJ! You are the King of Research!
