On Saturday evening, Sept. 8, 2012, the PTO hosted Richland's first Community Softball Game. There were three teams comprised of ten members each. The event's organizer Ben Eaton said, "Tonight went great! We couldn't have asked for more support! I thought this would be a fun event for anyone regardless of age or gender, but the ultimate goal was to show our support for the school and how proud we are to be Richland Rebels! We want to show the students we are behind them, and that you can become something even if you come from a small school!" There was even a bouncy house and a batting range for children. Ashley Wheeler, PTO President, said, "We charged a fee to participate in the game, sold shirts, and did concessions, and and all of the money is being donated to Richland's Athletic Department." Team Two placed first, Team Three placed second, while Team One placed third.
