Lorelei Guethle was one of many guests at Keller Public Library's final session Tuesday of their summer series, "Dig into Reading." Tuesday's theme was, "I Dig Crafts," with several stations of arts and crafts set up in the library's community room, including wooden snakes to paint and miniature flower pots to decorate. Dexter School Board members covered several agenda items in short order Tuesday night. Among them was adoption of the district's annual goals and objectives for the 2013-14 school year, with the focus once again on student achievement. Along with an overall statement of intentions "to meet the needs of all students through comprehensive education programs, extra-curricular opportunities, and policy improvements," next year's goals also are geared toward taking "multiple transitory steps...to prepare for implementation of the Common Core Standards for the 2014-15 school year.". ...
