Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 05/02/2014

Friday, May 2, 2014

Missouri, as usual, is a state divided. According to the U.S. Drought
Monitor, 33 percent of the state is abnormally dry or in moderate drought.
Other parts of the state have seen flash flooding, and fields far too wet
to consider planting. And while the rain has helped those dry areas along
some, nearly 20 percent of the state's pasture is in poor to very poor
condition. Hay supply is moderate, demand is light and prices are steady.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for
both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or for a directory visit
