The Butler County Health Department had added an additional positive COVID-19 result Tuesday afternoon.

According to the BCHD, 18 people in Butler County have now tested positive for the coronavirus. There were also two positive tests during Easter weekend for 17 total as of Monday.

Butler County’s first positive case of COVID-19 was recorded March 31.

As of Monday morning, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports a total of 4,160 positive cases in the state, with 110 deaths. The numbers likely are slightly higher because the website has experienced some lag in updates.

Meanwhile, health officials continue to stress the importance of social distancing to help curb the spread of the virus.

Among age demographics as of Monday, four cases are of people who are 60-69 years old and three are for people who are 30-39 years old.

Another two are ages 50-59 with one case each among 20-29, 30-39 and 70-79. There are no reported cases of anyone over the age of 80.

No information was provided on the remaining five cases.
